Would you like to learn the names of the 2026 Gem Award for Lifetime Achievement awardees? If you didn’t know, this is one of the most prestigious accolades ever, given by Jewelers of America. A couple behind London Jewelers, Mark and Candy Udell, is going to receive this great honor next year!
This high-esteem award will be given at JA’s traditional Gala on March 13 of the next year in New York.
Amanda Gizzi from JA praises Mark and Candy for their beautiful legacy based on authenticity and high standards. This award not only acknowledges London Jewelers’ current achievements but also their almost-century-long journey of whole generations of jewelers. Currently, the Udells are mentoring the fourth generation of family leaders, including their children.
London Jewelers was established 99 years ago as a jewelry store in Glen Cove by Mark Udell’s grandfather. The company has then evolved into a multi-store retailer under Mark and Candy’s direction, selling earrings, pendants, custom rings, necklaces, bracelets, and many other pieces.
Mark and Candy Udell are no strangers to high honors. In 2023 and 1993, they were included in the National Jeweler’s Retailer Hall of Fame. They have always kept working and improving their business. One of the most recent achievements of the awardees is opening high-end stores in New Jersey and Long Island. The recently opened stores will certainly increase the company’s presence in the area and strengthen its position in the luxury market.
