Wedding Band Designs Compared in 3D Before Final Approval
A useful 3D review makes dimensions and spatial relationships easier to evaluate than they are in a flat image alone. It allows the proposed wedding band to be examined from multiple angles before its final form is approved.
If your wedding band is intended to complement an existing or potential engagement ring, computer-aided design (CAD) software will enable us to view your wedding band design not only as an individual piece, but rather as a component of the bridal ring set. CAD designs can incorporate details specific to your custom wedding band, including its particular characteristics, patterns, gemstones and other design requirements.
The shape of the interior and exterior surfaces of the band, its width, placement of stones, curvature and distance between the two rings all affect how smoothly the two rings fit together and how cohesive they look when being worn together. And naturally, each ring must also look nice on its own.

Finishing and Edge-Detailing Techniques for Custom Wedding Bands
Finishing is not simply smoothing a wedding band’s surface. It means controlling where and how much metal is taken away to achieve consistent surfaces and edges in keeping with the original design intent.
Once the CAD model is approved, it is used to create a high-precision 3D-printed pattern for casting. This pattern is then used to cast the piece in metal. At this stage, the profile established in the design is brought to its final form, including its inner and outer edges.
Consistent finishing across the entire circumference of a custom wedding band is particularly important. The inner surface should not contain rough areas, while the outer edge should be free of unintended rounding or abrupt transitions. We remove as much metal as necessary to preserve the desired design profile while creating an edge that feels comfortable against the finger. When gemstones are incorporated into the wedding band, setting is a subsequent step performed by our skilled stone setters who pay close attention to proper fit and secure setting.
We separately assess how the finished ring feels on the finger while checking that its intended geometry and design remain intact. Uneven areas, overly reduced edges, or visible traces of finishing are corrected before the final surface treatment. When gemstones are included, we additionally test the security of their settings with ultrasonic vibration as a practical stress test, where appropriate, because daily wear places additional demands on these components.
