AI Jewelry Design: What to Expect When Creating a Custom Piece
How to Use Our AI Jewelry Studio
Our AI jewelry design tool brings your ideas to life by turning them into images you can easily refine and customize as your vision evolves. Our AI Jewelry Studio is completely free to use. To ensure a smooth experience for everyone, you can generate up to 10 images per hour, with a maximum of 21 generations within any 24-hour period.
For example, you can describe your ring design as “a yellow gold ring with an oval blue sapphire, two small clear diamonds, and a smooth, plain band.” This provides our AI with a clear direction of what you are looking to create. The optional settings let you choose materials and style. Your description explains how the elements fit together, where patterns should appear, and which surfaces should stay plain.
Reference images are optional. A photograph can illustrate one element of the design (e.g., the curvature of a band or the positioning of its stones). By explaining what you like about this element, you will help the AI focus on that specific feature when creating your design.
A saved version can serve as the reference for developing subsequent versions. For example, “Keep the sapphire, yellow gold, and plain band. Replace the two side diamonds with black diamonds” specifies both the specific change and the elements that should remain consistent. If the tool changes other details, an earlier saved version may be a better starting point.
The AI Jewelry Editor allows you to make adjustments to selected areas of your generated design. Simply brush across the section you wish to modify using your mouse or finger and write a description of what changes you want made, for example, “replace the blue sapphire with a purple amethyst.” The modified picture will be saved as a new version, allowing you to see the difference between it and the original.
Different saved versions of your design allow you to compare several design options and ultimately determine which option to present to our team of jewelers (even though you may still need to make adjustments).
From an AI-generated concept to a 3D CAD model.
Can Your AI Jewelry Concept Be Made?
Olertis’ in-house design team manages all aspects of custom jewelry design and manufacturing. Our designers analyze the design concept you generated through our AI system and develop its proportions, stone placement, and metalwork to create a final design that we will craft in solid gold or platinum.
The setting may need some adjustments to fit the stones you choose. Our team will describe any recommended modifications that might impact appearance and discuss these modifications with you.
As part of design development, our designers will generate a detailed 3D computer-aided design (CAD) model based on your selected AI-generated jewelry design. You will then view the model from several angles with our designers, who will explain how the details will look in the finished piece. We will also discuss any visible differences between your original AI jewelry concept and the proposed design.
Color representations of the gems in your image will assist in selecting actual stones. You will review the stone selections as the design develops. If your concept incorporates stones or jewelry you currently possess, our designers will also evaluate their condition and suitability for the new piece.
How the Design Will Look and Feel When Worn
Our designers assess how the concept you created in our AI jewelry design studio will look when worn. They consider the piece’s actual scale and proportions, including how its stones and metalwork will look together at that size.
For rings, this means assessing the prominence of the center stone on your hand, as well as how well the mounting fits next to another ring if worn together. The length and shape of earrings will also contribute to framing your face, and the pendant’s size and the length of its chain will influence where the pendant rests when worn.
Our jewelers pay just as much attention to the appearance of your piece as they do to its fit and comfort. They will assess how comfortably a ring sits against neighboring fingers, how well earrings distribute their weight, and how well a pendant hangs and moves. Ultimately, your personal preferences will drive their dimensional and structural choices.
If desired, you may request a physical prototype to help you gauge scale and fit before your item is produced.
What Determines the Cost of Making Your Custom Jewelry
Making a gold horn pendant with a diamond-set crown.
The concept you create in our AI jewelry design tool allows our jewelers to build an estimate of potential cost. Using the image and your design preferences, they can estimate probable metal weight, suggest suitable gemstones, and assess labor requirements associated with producing the item.
Custom jewelry pieces created by Olertis start at $1,800. Your estimate explains the materials and services included and the main factors behind the price. Our pricing guide covers those factors in more detail.
Our staff can also clarify which material/gemstone combinations best match your concept and budget, including options with natural or lab-grown stones. We discuss any changes affecting the appearance or price with you and agree on the final cost before production.
What Happens After You Send Your Concept to Olertis
Your preferred AI custom jewelry concept can be forwarded directly from the studio to our design team for analysis of how it can be produced and an initial estimate. Your inquiry includes the image, your contact information, and notes on what you would like to keep or change, your budget, any gemstones you already own, or a preferred completion date.
We aim to respond to all inquiries within 24 hours. The first consultation is complimentary and covers your concept, its feasibility, and an estimated cost, helping you decide whether to move forward with the project.
Once we have agreed on the scope of your project and an initial cost estimate, a 50% deposit initiates design development and 3D modeling. You will review detailed renderings with our team and can request adjustments. Unlimited CAD design revisions are included before final approval. Changes requested after approval are charged separately based on the work involved, materials, and stage of production.
If you decide to stop the project after paid design work begins, we deduct the costs incurred up to cancellation when calculating any deposit refund. Our payment terms explain the details.
Manufacturing starts once you approve the final CAD design. Typically, projects require approximately 3–6 weeks from receipt of your deposit and confirmed brief; this includes 2–4 weeks after CAD approval. Your finished item is reviewed against your approved design; the remaining balance is due after completion prior to shipment. The conceptual image you developed in our studio remains as a visual reference throughout the entire creative process as our jewelers transform your approved design into your finished custom jewelry piece.
