On the 18th of December, 2024, three individuals were arrested by police, just two days following the Germantown jewelry showroom robbery.

The risk of break-in robberies is incredibly high around the holiday season, and business owners need to stay on guard.

In open daylight, Bob Richards Jewelry shop in Germantown, a suburb of Memphis, was targeted in a smash-and-grab attack. At around 1 p.m. on December 16, officers responded to a robbery at a fine jewelry store on South Germantown Road.

Early investigation shows that suspects used two rented vehicles to target the store. They entered the showroom by crashing into the entrance with a car. Fortunately, no staff member was hurt during the attack.

On the same day of the robbery, Germantown Police reported that one person of interest had been taken into custody. That person received a gunshot wound and got treatment at a hospital.

Two days after the incident, GPD officials said they had seized both vehicles linked to the heist. Moreover, three people were detained and charged with aggravated robbery, aggravated assault, and felony vandalism. These people are Johnathan Spates, Jackie Spears, and Trayneisha Hurt, who have also faced false reporting charges.
