Creating bespoke jewelry is a collaborative, structured process between you and the designer. Many American clients inquire about how long the entire process will take and the honest reply is: it depends on the design complexity, material availability, and how quickly decisions are finalized. Our objective is to provide a transparent, reliable, and easily-planned-around timeline for the entire custom process.
At Olertis, the full custom jewelry process typically takes 3–6 weeks. This turnaround time covers all the phases of the process including design, modeling, selecting the stones, and final production. The process officially begins once both the deposit and final design brief have been finalized. Production cannot move forward until both elements are confirmed. The structure of the workflow stages is defined as follows:
Each stage has measurable deliverables from the initial design brief to the photorealistic CAD rendering.

Once the 3D model is approved, the remaining steps typically take 2–4 weeks, depending on the complexity of the metalwork and the rarity or availability of the stones.
The most unpredictable phase of creating bespoke jewelry is the iteration phase. Although Olertis follows a structured approach, the actual custom ring timeline (and timelines for other personalized jewelry) is contingent upon how quickly the client approves design revisions. Typically, each round of revisions adds 1–2 days depending on the level of detail needed. Unlimited revisions do not equate to unlimited speed.
Quality Control is a crucial component of the process and a predictable step that usually adds 1–3 days to the timeline. As stated previously, this step is a non-negotiable requirement as it provides long-term wearability, durability, and precision.
In order to maintain open communication, our customer service representatives use email, phone calls, and secure messaging to update clients on the status of their piece and to let them know when they can expect the next milestone within the production stages.
While there are many factors outside of our control, such as global logistics and customs delays, our contingency planning helps mitigate potential issues.
If you are working against a tight deadline, Olertis offers a Rush Order option to shorten the production timeline by 1–2 weeks when possible. A Rush Order requires additional resources and is ideal for fixed proposal dates or holiday deadlines.
All shipments are fully-insured and generally take 1–3 days to arrive using an overnight carrier depending on the client’s preference. If the ring size needs to be adjusted post-delivery, resizing generally takes 3–5 business days and will not impact the original production timeline. Some intricate designs may require additional processing.

Your deadline is important, and at Olertis, meeting that deadline is a predictable and reliable outcome. No matter what the occasion is, whether it is a proposal or celebrating a milestone, we will synchronize the production timeline with your desired completion date and will also give you an accurate prediction of completion based on your approved design.
We treat deadlines as commitments. Our process is divided into sequential, time-boxed workflow stages, thus allowing us to reverse engineer the timeline and ensure your piece is complete, inspected and shipped by the exact date you need.
As such, for the holiday season or any engagement, we recommend beginning the consultation 7–8 weeks prior to the deadline. This allows enough time for the one variable stage – design approval – while maintaining a predictable timeline for manufacturing, Quality Control and shipping. By establishing a timeline and scheduling upfront, we can ensure that your piece is produced with the precision required to meet your momentous occasion.
