Established by Marcello Monti and Gilberto Dentelli in 1967, Valenza Setting Lab (VSL) has recently come under the ownership of Pomellato. A jewelry company with Italian roots made this move in its urge to boost production competence and scope. A well-intentioned, excellent step – if you want to increase your proficiency in the diamond- and precious stone-setting area, you buy a company that already has an impeccable reputation in this field. Moreover, the purchase will make it possible to keep up to high standards of craftsmanship.
The last solid investment by Pomellato took place two years ago when the company bought a minority share in Valenza’s Costanzo & Rizzetto, the Italian goldsmith company.
Pomellato CEO Sabina Belli acknowledges that this decision opens the door for the company’s growth thanks to the unmatched expertise of the VSL team in high-level stone setting and represents an important advancement for the Kering-owned Italian jewelry house on its way to perfection. Belli expressed excitement about the prospects this new development step would bring.
The new purchase will definitely help the fashion fine jeweler amplify its reach on a global scale. The 24 staff members of the newly established setting lab were previously part of MG Incassatura, with which Pomellato has been in partnership for years.
