Grizzly, one of the top emerald producers in the world, has announced the results of its most recent emerald event in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. The stones from the Zambia-based mines have enjoyed a quite high bidding interest. There were a total of 142 lots, almost all of which have been bought by about a hundred in-person attendees and even more online participants.

The display included medium and high-grade emeralds of various colors, sizes, and quality. Of course, an exclusive 835-carat deep-green specimen has stolen the show. It has enjoyed a particular interest from the public, which was testified by intensive bidding. This was lot 137, and it went under the hammer after quite a bit of competition. The winning offer came from an Israeli company Gemstar, who has been in partnership with Grizzly for about two decades.

The emerald auction has once again proven that the interest in Zambian-sourced rough precious stones is still high. The company’s chairman Abdoulaye Ndiaye has expressed his excitement over the auction’s results and the vigorous bidding of the participants. The demand is still going strong, and with that, Grizzly’s hopes for many more successful auctions to come. The company has been around for almost three decades and has been continually producing about 60 million carats of rough stones per year since its inception. The Olertis Jewelry team wishes Grizzly many more years of successful operation and is looking forward to seeing other wonderful specimens.
